Last Night In Paris

My very last night in Paris was spent at one of the local bars by our apartments, but it was really wonderful because all of us were there and it was great to see everyone one last time. I am so sad to be home, I am really going to miss the friends that I made on this trip! We were all so different, but got along so well. This whole trip was an amazing experience. I feel like I have learned more in just that one month than I have in my 2 years at school! I feel so blessed to even have had the opportunity to go to Paris and I DEFINITELY hope to be back one day!

All packed up!

Final Project

Last day here in Paris! We are presenting our final project to all of the teachers today. These are photos from my boutique project, if you can't tell I kind of went with the whole natural, romantic, wanna-be vintage look. We had to create a mood board, a trend board, 2 floor plans and 2 linear views. I SUCK at drawing so I struggled with this project, but my teacher was awesome and really helped me out!

Actually AT The Eiffel Tower

Tonight was one of the best nights of my time here in Paris, well probably my life too- ha! For our friend's birthday, Darcy, we all decided to go out to dinner and then we went up the Eiffel Tower. It was so amazing. We didn't get there until midnight and the light show was already in session. We hopped in the elevator and started to make our way up. Once we got off the elevator and actually started to walk around the Eiffel Tower, it  kind of hit me that I am literally standing on the Eiffel Tower right now looking over all of Paris. It was beautiful and surreal and I still can't believe this is real life. It was so great to be up there with new friends, in a new city and all of us dreaming of something different. I am going to be so sad to leave this place and all the new friends that I have made! This trip has been such a blessing and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Starting My Own Business, Enough Said

I finally FINISHED my shibori scarves! I am pretty happy with how they turned out. It is seriously so much fun to do, although it does take some time to do each scarf. But when we work on them here our teacher just puts on some good music (either Britney Spears or music from the Hippee Era) and we all hang out and work on our scarves. It is pretty relaxing and our teacher is such a doll, I will miss her when I have to return back to the states. Anyways I am thinking me and Carolyn Monke are going to have to start our own business soon, it can be one of our new crafts?!?! But seriously, my teacher, who is VERY GOOD at them sells her scarves for like 100 Euro! Here are a couple pictures of my scarves : )

Dancing All Day, Everyday

We go out dancing A LOT here but I think my favorite place thus far was the Social Club. The atmosphere was so fun and the music was old school, like taking it back to Nelly in the 5th grade. The night we went Solange was the DJ soo that was also pretty cool. I think I am finally getting into this clubbing scene here in Paris. Only a few nights left to experience the night life... YIKES! So sad.

CREPES

It was FINALLY nice and sunny this morning so a few of us decided to hit up a cafe and enjoy a nice Parisian breakfast. We sat at a cafe facing the Luxembourg gardens and the fountain, it was so beautiful. I seriously do not think I can leave this place! I got a nutella-banana crepe for breakfast with whipped cream (obviously) and a mini coffee. So delicious!

Feathers, Fondue and French Designers

I woke up early this Saturday morning and strolled around the city by myself for a while. I got some gummy bears for breakfast and sat down at the fountain right by my apartment, yes I am eating gummy bears for breakfast in Paris. Then I headed into a few new boutiques that I had not been into yet. I am so happy I went into them because I think I found my 2 new favorite lines- hopefully I can find them somewhere back in Minneapolis! The first one I fell in love with was  American Vintage, the fabrics were so soft and the quality of the pieces were very nice for the price. They used lots of pastels and overall the designs were just chic, ha. The next boutique had a line called Lauren Vidal Vintage it was a little pricey, but all of the designs were so romantic and flowy. I am definitely going to have to pick up one of her dresses before I leave! After my little shopping excursion we had a 5 hour feather making class, on a Saturday. The guy that taught the class is a feather specialist and a designer and works for YSL, Celine and other luxury companies. His name is Jean-Louis Pinabel and he was pretty easy to work with since he spoke English so well. Let's just say this.. you need lots of time and patience to make feather things.. it took me a few hours to make a hair clip!! To finish off my Saturday, some of the girls and I went to "Le Refuge Des Fondues" for dinner. On our way there we just happened to run into the Tour De France which was really cool to see, but I didn't get very good pictures! The dinner was quite the experience, very French. They serve wine in baby bottles and you sit at a table with everyone in the restaurant. It was a fun atmosphere and the area was very trendy and cool. We got cheese fondue and some appetizers, overall a wonderful night!
